Project – 1 hr Firewalls
Location – Bilston , West Midlands

Introduction
Working for the main contractor Volker Fitzpatrick, ISD Firewall and Cladding Division supplied and installed approximately 1500 sq mtrs of Eurobond panel to complete both of the 1 hr rated firewalls. Working to a tight program the full design and installation was completed on time.

Main Firewall
The main firewall which separates the office space and the warehouse was installed first and consisted of approximately 1200 sq mtrs of Eurobond Firemaster Wall Extra panel, chosen to achieve the required 1 hour fire rating. Due to the roof design the main fire wall has been installed horizontally on to the structural columns as far as possible and at the roof junction the orientation has been changed to vertical so the wall fits tight in to the curved roof and maintains the fire rating integrity.

Fire wall Number 2
A second firewall was required to separate the reception area and main warehouse. This consisted of approximately 300 sq mtrs of Eurobond Firemaster Wall Extra panel again chosen in order to achieve the required 1 hr fire rating.

All the associated flashings and trims that were required on the project were bespoke made at ISD’s factory premises in Gloucester by our team of skilled metal workers and were on site within 48 hours of order.
The design for the project was undertaken at our head offices in Gloucester. Working closely with the architect, the needs of the project were fully interpreted and delivered with the construction carried out to the clients programme and requirements.
